Introduction
Form, trends and CMF were one of our classroom projects during the semester 5th. Over a period of 4 weeks, we assimilated, interpreted and translated a theme into a product. The theme my team picked was Generation Z (worldwide).

Understanding their professions and lifestyle

Trend analysis-
Did online research about what is trending among the selected group through multiple sources like social media, newspapers.

Attributes-
Summarizing the research we came up with a few attributes/ keywords that best describes Gen Z

Mood board and color palette-
We curated pictures and colors that brought out the essence of the attributes

Designed the bottle-
Taking inspiration from the mood board and attributes, I came up with a concept of a water bottle for Gen Z

CMF design of the bottle-
Once the form was finalized, I picked CMF and finalized concepts.

User Research Summary-
Generation Z, typically defined as individuals born roughly between the mid-1990s and the early 2010s, exhibits several distinct characteristics and differences from previous generations.

  1. Digital Natives- Gen Z is the first generation to grow up surrounded by smart phones, and internet. They are tech savvy with a global perspective.

  2. Fluidity of Identity- Gen Z is more open to fluidity and flexibility in terms of gender identity, sexual orientation, and cultural affiliations. They challenge traditional norms and advocate for greater acceptance and understanding of diverse identities.

  3. Flexible work culture- Gen-Zers are exploring interesting part-time jobs that are normally created by a combination of social demand and personal hobbies like drone pilots, streamers, organizers etc.

This theme sees various different ideas and individualities connecting together, with digital solutions offering a new kind of “Oneness”. This form of expression is characterized by a worldview that combines the real with the digital, depicted in vivid colours and fascinating effects.

User Persona

Name- Samaksh Sharma

 

Age- 13 years

 

Occupation- 8th grade student

 

Place- Delhi, India

 

Background

Sam is a 13 year old young teenager, living in Delhi with his parents and a 5-year-old brother. Sam’s parents moved to Delhi from Jabalpur in 2005 when his dad got a job opportunity there. His dad is a banker and his mom is a teacher. Both of them are very outgoing with big social circles, they also attend a lot of events and parties. They live in a 2 bhk apartment. He shares his room with his younger brother, which is currently his biggest frustration. He feels he is being deprived of personal space and is jealous of all his friends who have their rooms. But he has his phone that he got when he was 12 years old, since both the parents are working it was getting hard to take care of the children from work.

He's not amongst the most outgoing kids at school. He finds it hard to make friends or open up to others. He has many online friends. Since he's alone at home with his younger brother mostly, he's very active on social media and actively games. He has also joined several discord groups of famous influencers and often watches youtube.

He was born and brought up in Delhi, occasionally they all would visit their extended families living in Jabalpur both maternal as well as paternal. He always loved going to the big cozy family environment, his pampering grandma and fun cousins. He also found being there more relaxing because of the comparatively slow lifestyle.

The final product is a water bottle called Rizz (a slang used by Gen-Zers that comes from the word charisma and means the same).
I wanted the form of the bottle to be full of movement, which captures the dynamic personality of Gen-Zers. The CMF palette chosen is refreshing and offbeat which speaks to our audience
